Shamis Pitts is the Founder and CEO of Pitts Leadership Consulting (“PLC”), a human capital consulting company specializing in organizational health and employee wellbeing. PLC helps organizations enhance work environments to drive employee retention and performance to amplify profitability and impact.
PLC lives at the intersection of organizational development and professional development. The company evaluates existing strategy and co-creates action plans to align people, purpose, process, outcomes and success metrics via advising, consulting, training and facilitation, and executive and leadership individual and group coaching.
Launched in 2019 and formally established in 2020, PLC’s clients include for-profit and non-profit organizations, as well as higher education institutions. PLC is a NMSDC-Certified Minority Business Enterprise and WBENC-Certified Women's Business Enterprise.
Shamis Pitts has operated at the intersection of strategy, people management and leadership, and operations for 25+ years within various industries. She is an International Coaching Federation Certified Professional Coach, a Society for Human Resource Management-Senior Certified Professional, and holds other DEI and coaching-specific certifications. Shamis received her MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, concentrating in leadership and strategy, and her BA in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Shamis is a National Career Development Association-Career Convergence, The Executive Leadership Council - Institute for Leadership Development and Research, Thrive Global and HR Jolt Magazine contributor. She’s been featured in Authority Magazine and Employee Benefit News and is a Featured Expert in the Growth Leadership course within The Bank of America Institute for Women's Entrepreneurship at Cornell online certification.
Shamis was awarded a Bronze Stevie for “Mentor or Coach of the Year – Business” at the 21st annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business and was also selected by Profiles in Diversity Journal® as a 2024 Women Worth Watching® in Leadership.
Shamis is passionate about mentoring early and mid-career women, playing golf with her spouse and watching Columbo reruns.
She is also committed to amplifying diverse-owned business, which she fulfills by serving on the President’s Council for The Acceleration Project, an innovative, award-winning consulting firm focused on under-resourced and underfunded small businesses.
