Biography

Samantha Trotman Burman, born in the UK, began her career in investment banking in the 1980s in London. She moved to Boston to attend Harvard Business School in 1991 and worked in the private equity industry at Bain Capital and Parthenon Capital. Samantha also served on the boards of NFP organizations, most notably MSPCC (Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) and Beth Israel Deaconess Needham hospital. She is past Chair of the Board of Advisors at BID, Needham and Co-Chair of the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) Behavioral Services Advisory Committee.
Samantha lives in a small MA town with her husband and has four children. She became passionate about behavioral & mental health 10 years ago due to her own and her family’s struggle with anxiety and depression. She has publicly shared her message of empathy, advocacy and hope via meetings, speaker series and panel events. She founded the Isleworth Group in December 2022. The mission of the Isleworth Group is to improve emotional health for all but focusing initially on families and teenager struggling with mental health. She is written articles including, “Where is My Lasagna?“, and “Momma Bear, Mother Owl” which highlights the stigma often experienced by families suffering with mental health issues and offering lessons learned from her experience.
