To use my super power of zeroing in on people's mindset challenges and giving them intentional strategies to to think, feel, and act in new ways for more successful businesses and fulfilling lives.
More recently, I have taken my passion for travel and combined it with my leadership mindset strategies to provide my audiences with the many professional and personal benefits of intentional travel--also called mindful or conscious travel.
On the personal side, I love to dance, travel, and spend time with my two sons. My older son is at A&M which was tough for a longtime Longhorn, but on the bright side I look better in burgundy than burnt orange!
We as humans are wired to want to be cared about and appreciated. I was keynoting for a conference in San Francisco awhile back and read somewhere that you should always tip the hotel maids every day and not just at the end so you show your appreciation over a period of time. It also suggested writing a little note expressing your appreciation. I had never thought of that, so put a couple of bucks down on the bedside table and a little note with "Thank you very much for your kind service."
I just happened to be in the room working on my talk when the maid came in to clean up. I didn't pay much attention to her. Unexpectedly, I felt a tap on my shoulder and it was the maid almost in tears. She had the note in her hand and thanked me and said no one had ever done anything like that for her before and she so appreciated it. I was completely taken-aback and so happy that I had done that.
Even the smallest things can make such a big difference in our lives and others.
I worked for a long time for a forecasting company and we found that people didn't just want to forecast the future, they wanted to grow and create their own futures. We came up with best practices to find small trends that would become big opportunities, which led to co-authoring the book, "MiniTrends". The book won two best book awards and we started doing consulting and conferences around innovation.
I soon found that there were a LOT of miserable people, especially in corporate and the government, that didn't have a chance to use their ideas and creativity because their companies had fixed mindsets--stay within your lane! I realized that to be innovative and sustainable, organizations and leaders must have a positive, growth mindset.
Looking for a way to help, in 2016 I went through an extensive executive coaching program and came away with methodologies and techniques to intentionally shift my own--which it turned out wasn't so great!--and others' mindsets to ones to support success while bringing joy and fulfillment to their lives.
I deliver high-energy, interactive keynotes and presentations that provide practical, actionable techniques that transform people's viewpoint of their lives, how they see the people around them, and gives them a new frame of reference to be the person they want to be.
