Like many people, the end of the year often brings me to a place of deep reflection. The end of 2022 was no exception, and it was the combination of the usual end-of-year review of my life, plus the fact that I was a few months out from turning 50 that got me to finally admit to myself that my day job was no longer bringing me the joy that it once was.
It was at this end of year reflection point that I realized I had so much experience and so many life stories that I could offer to other women to help them on their own career journeys. After nearly 30 years in the tech industry, I am still witnessing some of the same gender inequity issues that were present when I began working in 1996. I realized that I wanted to be of service and I wanted to try to change things.
These realizations lit a spark in me and motivated me to begin writing and speaking about my own personal and professional journey as a means to help women become strong and empowered leaders. Through my public speaking, writing, and online video courses I have made it my mission to create a more equitable workplace where leadership by women is the norm and not the exception.
