Meet Robin LaGrow Buttler

Robin Buttler identifies her purpose in life as empowering people to become unstuck; to move into their desired destinies. Through speaking, coaching, mentor coaching, and training she delivers encouragement, instruction, and empowerment to those who fit that description. Her deepest desire is to move people into their destiny of fulfilled goals and dreams.

She received her coaching certification in 2010 through Dream Releaser Coaching and serves as their Chief Operating Officer and Master Trainer. She has successfully conducted training for coaches, coach trainers, and spoken at numerous summits. She completed the John Maxwell Certification Program of coaching in 2012. She is the owner of Step Forward Coaching, where she impacts people with her catchphrase, “Step forward; a new path awaits you!”

She holds the credentialed position as a Professional Certified Coach through The International Coach Federation (ICF). This position affords her the authorization to provide the required mentoring for those wanting to be credentialed through the ICF.

Robin gains her greatest fulfillment from exhorting, encouraging and training others through motivational speaking and teaching at workshops, conferences, summits, retreats, and podcasts.

Passion

Empowering people to move beyond their conflicts, to step forward rather than using what's behind them as their excuse. My passion is to offer support, encouragement, and accountability to those setting goals and having the willingness to put action behind them. I love to empower, encourage, engage, offer hope and challenge to those who are willing to make adjustments after assessing their situations and accepting what needs to be accepted.

Best Story

My favorite thing about being a life coach and speaker is the light I see in the eyes of those I’m speaking to when it dawns on them that they truly can take steps in the right direction to turn a difficult situation around to something good. When they feel that sense of hope, there is nothing like it for me, or for them! I have learned that while we may not be able to control decisions other people make that effect our own personal circle of life, we can choose how we’ll react to those decisions. At least in most cases. I often hear this question coming out of my mouth, “You may not be able to control the action, but how will you control your Reaction?”. I have no desire to contradict myself or to even take back having said that. I do still agree that there is essential weight carried by our reaction to things. We can give in and accept what’s happened and therefore make adjustments, or we can give up and live in the regret and disappointment. There is no question that we have a choice in every situation. Every client that I meet with departs our sessions with a plan. There are action steps set, accountability expected, and dates of achievement in mind. They have assessed all that could go wrong and they’ve identified ways to overcome the obstacles. They have thought it through, talked it out, and made a plan to stepping forward. When I step away from a speaking opportunity, I know that I have used of God to provide the same hope. All of this sounds so great…and it’s actually very valid and possible. I have seen many impossible situations turn around for the good simply because someone was brave enough to square their shoulders and walk up to face their adversity. They’ve taken the time to consider all sides of the situation and they’re not taking defeat as their final score. They’re ready, willing, able, and determined.

Origin Story

I had been working in the same company for 14 years and I was the problem solver. There was barely a half hour that would pass by without someone coming into my office seeking an answer, a solution a suggestion. As much as I loved being needed, I began to grow weary and resentful as so many them would walk from my office feeling relieved, while I felt the weight of their situation on my shoulders. I was approached by Drs. Sam and Brenda Chand, the owners of Dream Releaser Coaching, and asked to become a life coach trainer for their company. I saw it as an additional income stream and smart career decision, never planning to actually become a life coach. IT CHANGED MY LIFE! Rather than having to have everyone's answer, I learned how to have their QUESTIONS! I was able to still open my door and heart to those in need, but I learned to empower them, challenge them, support them, encourage them...all without advising, suggesting, or taking on their burdens as my own responsibility. It brought FREEDOM into my life as well as the room to truly empower others!!
