My first job out of college was an internship at Oscar de la Renta in New York City. I was over the moon about this even though it was a 40 hour a week unpaid internship. For some reason I decided it was a good idea to wear a Patagonia fleece to my first day of work. When I arrived in my fleece I was told that it was not an appropriate choice for someone working at Oscar de la Renta. I still have the fleece.
