Best Story

An interesting story I would share from stage is about a former patient who found me five years after I left my practice in Texas. She reached out on social media, filled with excitement and gratitude to share that she had achieved a life-changing milestone: losing 100 pounds. What made this especially meaningful was hearing that she felt empowered by our conversations. She told me, ‘You listened to me, and I listened to you,’ and it was in that space of shared trust and understanding that she discovered the power she had within herself to completely alter her life’s trajectory.

Her transformation came through the practices of mindfulness, movement, and healthy eating, empowering her to take charge of her wellness on every level. This encounter reinforced for me how meaningful the doctor-patient relationship can be when it’s built on listening, empathy, and mutual respect. It’s a reminder that we, as providers, may plant seeds of change that can grow far beyond the walls of an exam room.

Origin Story

After over 25 years of caring for women as an OB/GYN, encouraging them to adopt healthier lifestyle habits—mindfulness, movement, balanced eating—I reached a powerful realization. Despite guiding countless patients, I saw that I also needed to make drastic changes in my own life. This 'aha' moment led me to create Walker Health & Wellness Designs, a space where I could empower women on a larger scale, going beyond the limitations of a 15-minute office visit. Through my company, I can now offer the comprehensive support women need to cultivate a 'Healthstyle' that transforms their lives.
