Passion

My passion is for creating a healthy work environment such that every employee feels valued and can thrive. I believe this shift has the power to not only transform workplace productivity and cohesion, but further generates a positive impact on the individual which in turn stretches to encompass their families, friends, and even their broader community.

I strongly believe education and awareness are the conduits to positive change – in the workforce and beyond. My book, Find Fix Fill Your Leadership Gap, and speaking engagements are the ways in which I spread the gospel of my decades-long knowledge about leadership, teamwork, and the pillars of success.

My motto is: It’s great when your employees want to come to work. But it becomes DYNAMIC when they want to work with each other.

Best Story

Conflict – How it Arises and How to Manage it

Two director-level employees were in the throes of heavy conflict. One reached a breaking point and contacted a member of the organization’s Board of Directors to complain of a hostile work environment. I tell the story of the situation that led to this outcome as a way of teaching attendees how to transform conflict situations. I share strategies that begin at the interview and onboarding phase and continue through the full work cycle. I teach about the mis-steps that occurred, and share the opportunities for intervention. Finally, I broaden minds as this story has a twist towards the end. This makes the story – and the lesson – memorable.

*I use several different stories, each anonymized, of past clients, in my speaking engagements. Each is expertly woven into the topic and teaches attendees essential skills about leadership, team dynamics, and strategies to manage conflict.

Origin Story

Growing up, I experienced first-hand the secondary impact caused by poor workplace relations. My mother, an executive assistant and the financial supporter of my sisters and me, worked for a verbally abusive man. At home, her anger and frustration were transferred over. Our household was loud, tense, and fearful.

As a HS student, I recall being asked about my career aspirations. My answer was that I wanted to go into businesses and be a psychologist to improve how people worked together. After HS, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, and then a Master’s in Counseling. But it wasn’t until 10 years into my career that I came full circle and stumbled upon the practice of mediation.

Like a duck to water, I pursued learning in the field, which almost immediately catapulted me into teaching conflict resolution to others. Two years into my work, I started my business in providing mediation to resolve conflict and heal unhealthy workplace relations. Over the past 20 years, my business has evolved, our services have expanded, and my team has grown to support the work we do for our clients.
