I sometimes get paid for speaking
I encountered a mid-life crisis about ten years early, or so a friend told me. Perhaps I did go crazy--for a bit--but I found an inner peace I hadn't had when I was in my high-salaried job. I realized that I wasn't the person I thought I was and that what I thought made me happy actually made me miserable. I've been a solopreneur since 2014 and haven't looked back.
I define myself as an "accidental" entrepreneur. I never wanted or intended to be self-employed. My business ventures erupted from frustration and burnout from a career path that limited my ability to have an impact.
