Annette Richmond, MA, is a dynamic content marketing and video strategy trainer who helps consultants, coaches, and thought leaders grow their visibility and confidence online—especially on LinkedIn.

With a background in media studies and a former career in magazine writing, Annette has always been captivated by the power of storytelling. She brings that passion to life through content marketing that connects—and video strategies that convert.

Annette is the host of Content Marketing School Live, a LinkedIn Live broadcast and podcast that launched in 2024, following her first podcast in 2020 and her LinkedIn Live debut in 2021. She makes content creation feel doable, authentic, and even fun—especially for those who are camera-shy or just getting started.

A sought-after speaker known for her relatable, high-energy style, Annette has delivered sessions at national and regional conferences including the NRWA Annual Conference and SOCT SHRM HR Professional Development Summit & Law Symposium, with repeat invitations for 2024.

She’s a proud member of Innovation Women and an active leader in her local Chamber of Commerce. Annette also organizes and hosts LinkedIn Local Fairfield County CT events, creating offline spaces for professionals to connect and collaborate.

Annette holds an MA in Psychology from Fairfield University and a BA in English and Media Studies from Sacred Heart University—an academic blend that informs both her practical strategies and her people-first approach.

Passion

I’m passionate about helping people stop overthinking and start showing up—especially on video. Most of my clients already have something valuable to say. They just need help getting out of their own way so they can share it with clarity and confidence. That’s where I come in. Through content strategy, video coaching, and a whole lot of encouragement, I help coaches, consultants, and experts finally get visible and connect with the people who need their message.

Best Story

One of my favorite moments as a speaker happened in the most unexpected place: the airport.

I had just wrapped up a conference presentation on video marketing, and while waiting at my gate, an attendee from my session came over to say thank you. He told me that instead of listening to a podcast on his flight home, he downloaded one of the apps I mentioned—and recorded his very first video right there in the terminal.

He said, “You made it feel doable.”

That moment has stuck with me ever since. Because it’s not just about marketing—it’s about helping people move through their fear and actually start. And when someone takes action because of something I shared? That’s the best part of this work.

Origin Story

The idea for Black Dog Marketing Strategies was sparked over lunch at a post-pandemic conference.

At the time, I was shifting from a focus on personal branding to content marketing, and as the organization’s membership chair, I had already been encouraging members to use video through a community contest I ran. People began to associate me with video—which I loved.

During one lunch, a colleague asked how to create a simple “meet me” video. I showed her how to download a free app on her phone and shared a few quick techniques to get started. That one conversation turned into more—how to launch a LinkedIn Live show, how to create social media graphics, how to feel confident on camera.

And that’s when it clicked: I wasn’t just helping people create content—I was helping them be seen.

Today, through Black Dog Marketing Strategies, I work with B2B consultants, coaches, and entrepreneurs to develop content marketing strategies that build trust, increase visibility, and support sustainable growth—especially through the power of video.
