Biography

With more than 50,000 patient interactions, Dr. Sara Whedon has seen time and again
what the brain and body are capable of when they are optimized. People who have
optimized their brain health lead more balanced lives which allows them to function at
higher levels at work and at home with less overall stress.
For the past 12 years Dr. Sara (as her patients an clients fondly call her), has helped her
patients and clients transform their lives and companies by optimizing their brain
health. As the daughter of a corporate executive she knows first hand how burnout
affects family life which gives her a unique viewpoint to bring brain based
transformations to corporations.
Her passion for helping people optimize their brain health comes from seeing her dad
work countless hours as a corporate executive in the auto industry, often neglecting his
health to meet the demands of his job. When her mom died as her dad was preparing to
retire, and they were finally going to enjoy life together, Sara knew she had to use her
skills to help others live their best lives now and avoid the pain and avoidable
consequences of burnout and poor brain health.
Her mission is to change the narrative that wellness in an organization has to be
expensive and generic while providing little to no return to individuals or the
organization. Optimized brains in organizations can make swifter decisions, adapt more
quickly to unexpected situations and help individuals work with others in an expansive,
creative way.

Passion

Helping organizations optimize employee productivity, creativity and engagement while building your mission, bottom line and growth strategy- optimized employee brain health can be a triple threat to your competitors: it is a win for the employer, the employee (professional and personal) and the client/consumer

Best Story

Part of my responsibility with working with people is hearing people without judgment, trusting what they say is true for them and leading with empathy. The magic in results in solving the gap between what I know and how I can help and what the employee is experiencing in their words. The win for an organization is that each employee is optimized and happy which not only increases output but exponentially increases output. Now instead of one employee doing great across the board, you have a whole organization that is rowing in the same direction. We had a person working really hard to perform, keeping their head down to meet expectations and really over thinking everything they were working towards. Upon further evaluation I had to hold the space for their fear, their concern and build trust that we were headed in the right direction.. Long story short, after working with us, he met and exceeded all of his previous goals with ease and said he felt like he was back in the driver's seat. He said he was no longer living in his head!

Origin Story

My dad was years away from retirement in his corporate career. Concurrently after spending most of my 20's in school I started a practice with my brother in law. A month in to our practice life, we found out my mom had cancer. We were very close as a family and as such we leaned into whatever my mom needed through her treatment. Although the organization my dad worked for was amazing, my mindset on health in organizations changed rapidly after I saw the ramifications of what it looked like after my mom had passed. It got me thinking about how many other people and couples were living their life, waiting to retire. To live, to explore, to be healthy, to optimize their life because they felt they couldn't do it while they worked for organizations. It also got me thinking about how organizations really do want to see their employees win, they just don't know how. Since her passing in 2011, we have been re-framing how wellness works in organizations. Seeing the personal and professional wins has been nothing short of game changing. Nobody should have to wait to live until they retire- helping people thrive in the present tense will revolutionize the way businesses function. My dad's retirement won't look anything like what he envisioned however, but I am hoping to inspire other people and organizations to live optimally now!
