While speaking with a large audience at a hotel that had a divider wall, our group was having so much fun cheering and applauding, that the speaker next door asked the support staff to come over to ask us to be quiet. Our group fed off of that, and instead turned up the energy! This in fact encouraged the speaker next door to turn up the energy, so that dueling applause and cheering took place! It was so much fun to not only engage this audience, and then ALSO indirectly engage the audience next door
Early in my career, I worked with middle-level leaders who needed to present their ideas on how to improve the business to their executive team. The leaders were concerned and nervous about the experience and wanted to soften and massage their message out of fear. I had been working with the executive team, and I noticed that they were in fact excited, and really WANTED to know how the leaders felt. I realized the disconnect at that time and have since set out to unite all levels of leaders and employees to have REAL communication that gets them to innovation and ULTIMATELY true employee engagement and a successful and profitable business.
As an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas, here Kelly Leiker talks about quiet quitting on broadcast and provides essential tips on how to impact workers to become more engaging for small businesses and the working trend in the future of 2023. Kelly is also a business owner herself.
