I BELIEVE: Art heals. Everyone is an artist in some way. Making art is a brave, creative act of authentic communication.
I EXCEL AT creating environments where everyone in the room actively participates in getting work done using creativity, problem-solving and multiple senses.
MY MISSION is to create a positive impact on the workplace through communication and connection using the power of visual thinking.
I love creating welcoming spaces where creativity, connection and problem solving happen. A great day for me is when I see someone's face light up at discovering just the thing they’ve been searching for. At a 1-day conference, I led 3 energizer/check-in activities and graphically recorded the discussions throughout the day. After the event, multiple participants remarked at how energized they were and how much they were able to both contribute and learn in a short period of time. They were thrilled to have the live visual recordings as a reference at future working meetings.
Fusionary Thinking LLC spawned from the idea of smashing together seemingly unrelated fields like business, art and health, and leveraging the energy that gets released. The work I do is based on evidence-based fundamentals and my many years of experience with people at all levels across many industries, including non-profit, healthcare, biotech, management consulting, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and organizational development and training.
It’s tough to get people to put down their devices and pay attention to the topic at hand. To that end, I always start my talks, workshops and gatherings with an energizer.
These aren’t your everyday groaner energizers, however. I tailor each energizer to the topic at hand, the timing (early, after lunch, end of a long day), the audience, location and format (live, online or hybrid). Then I toss in a pinch of artistic ingenuity from my toolbox as a visual artist and mindfulness practitioner to add a unique twist.
Examples:
• 30-second stress busters
• 2-minute drawing out insights for non-artists
• Group monster taming
• make it, name it, share it
• intuitive branding on steroids
Benefits to Creative Energizers:
• Create an atmosphere of trust and connection
• Entice people to put down their phones and engage
• Break through damaging stress cycles and automatic thinking
Creative energizers can be paired with a talk, workshop or graphic facilitation engagement.
Are you someone who wants to make things better? Does your industry require nonstop innovation? Do you have to deal with constant change? Guess what? Creatives like me eat change, innovation and problem solving for lunch. In this talk, I share the secret sauce in the creative process.
This 5-step method is one I use to teach people how to paint. I believe that creativity takes many forms – some artistic, some more business oriented. Regardless of your orientation toward or experience with art-making, there are universal lessons to be learned.
After this talk, industry leaders, managers, facilitators, trainers, event organizers will
• Understand current challenges through a new lens
• Experience a boost of energy and flow of ideas toward innovation and solution-finding
• Increase empathy and understanding across varied perspectives
• Trust their creative abilities a bit more
This talk can be paired with a hands-on, interactive workshop.
