I landed my first director role by overcoming massive nerves and sending a three page document to the head of our division that outlined some ideas on how we could improve the department and ways we should consider changing it, taking under consideration major transformations that were happening in the industry. He not only listened, I was granted an opportunity to drive the transformation of clinical affairs to a GCORE division (Govt affairs, outcomes research, reimbursement & evaluation)- and a strategic approach that built an evidence pipeline that not only took under consideration requirements to secure regulatory clearances (be it EUMDR, FDA or otherwise), but optimizing our investments to enable reimbursement and market access post clearance-.
