Monica Laurence is a TEDx speaker, entrepreneur and hospitality maven. After decades as a leader in global enterprises, Hollywood entertainment and Silicon Valley technology startups, Monica’s adventurous spirit took her to the Fiji Islands where she opened Tavola Fiji, her luxe boutique resort. By the time I was 40, I was already a successful corporate leader and serial entrepreneur. After earning my BS and my MBA, I held leadership roles at Accenture, Disney and Lucasfilm. Then I joined my first Internet startup, and I was hooked. I went on to found, shape or influence 50+ startups. Bringing dreams to life was my jam.
Then 10 years ago I experienced a personal inflection point with the dissolution of my marriage. Seeking to adopt new patterns of being, I decided to say YES to invitations. Suddenly I found myself on a profound journey of awakening. I started experimenting with spiritual ideas and applying them to innovation and entrepreneurship - what I call applied enlightenment. To understand the truth of uncanny experiences, I dove into leading edge research in quantum mechanics and neuroscience. My exploration led to a life in paradise and the creation of Quantum Surfing - mindset training for entrepreneurs to unlock creative potential, drawing from quantum physics, neuroscience and consciousness.
As the daughter of a rocket scientist and a fun-loving stewardess, perhaps I was destined all along to decipher the quantum realm while hosting dinner parties in the Fiji Islands!
