What puts a smile on my face? Watching the light bulb go on in the face of someone who has just been touched by something they learned, realized, or connected with. And the smell of pine trees after a good rain.
I have to keep a little mystery! It could be accompanying a WWII French Resistance member on his first trip home since 1945. Or maybe how my love of Star Trek and sci-fi stories helped me stay the course during challenges and tough times. Or how I learned to listen between the lines when the US allowed my first visit to Cuba. Or even the moment when a bit of humor helped me surprise a group of cynical teenage foster kids and unlock an interest in history and technology. I'm a woman of eclectic interests who has stayed open to profound moments with ordinary people. And I bring all of that to the stage in a way that connects with listeners in both their ordinary moments and extraordinary aspirations.
Kristin Robinson has been telling stories since she authored, produced, directed and stared in her first play at the age of 6. The stage may have been cardboard, the audience any kids or parents or kids she could corral, but she has never looked back. Theater took her to London which was her first profound travel experience, energizing and deeply human with just a little soupcon of mystery. Once she learned how to use those experiences to light people up about learning, travel, or just simply connecting with one another, she never looked back.
