Best Story

As a young girl, I traveled with my parents to Africa. We were sleeping in a tent on the plains of the Masai Mara. A wounded lion and his pack circled our tent for hours roaring that evening. They were so close to us that I could hear them breathing. The only thing that separated us was a single piece of nylon from the tent. My parents and I were so afraid that they would pounce on us at any moment and kill us. It was a defining moment in my life that taught me how precious life is. At that moment, I also learned first-hand the importance of having internal survival skills.

Origin Story

Hannah Morgan Austin was born in Palmer, Alaska. At the age of four, Hannah’s parents took a huge leap of faith and quit their jobs to travel the world. From studying dance in Indonesia to trekking the Himalayas in Nepal, these life-changing experiences shaped Hannah’s vision to see the world from a unique holistic lens.

Hannah moved to Oregon in 1997 where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University and her master’s degree in Business from George Fox University. Her 20-year healthcare career offered many opportunities in leadership, program design, employee development, coaching, innovation, and execution. She is well known for mentoring and coaching young women early in their careers to help shape them into the Shatterer’s they were destined to be.

Hannah is described professionally and personally as a leader who can be both a visionary and an executor. In 2021 after the stress of the pandemic and 50-hour work weeks, Hannah found herself burned out. She decided to leave her job as a successful healthcare executive and set out on a journey to heal herself. Three months later she started SheShatters with the hope that she could have influence in women’s lives and share with them how she turned her darkness into light.
