Best Story

As it relates to the topic of female rivalry....
No age, demographic, ethnicity is off limits.
I'd studied this topic in and out. I thought I knew it in my core. I thought I was an 'expert' because of the research I'd done and the stories I'd collected.
And then with happened to me and I didn't know it was occurring. I lost my voice, my shine, my sparkle... all because of the behavior, 'another woman' projected at me.

Origin Story

I researched the phenomenon of female rivalry in the working environment for my PhD dissertation. At the time I hadn't experienced a full on rivalrous situation, but I saw how disruptive it was not only to the women experiencing it but to the entire team/ organization.
Fast forward a few years, I was consulting for a large firm and it happened to me.
It was that 'ah-ha' moment that made me realize this was a topic that the world needed more awareness of. I went in and immediately quit.
And that is how "To Be" came, to be.

Red Flags in Female Friendships (vlog/ talk)

That whisper in the back of your mind or nagging feeling... have you ever had it talk to you and then ignored it?

Listening to your ‘spidy’ senses, intuition or gut instinct can tell you a lot. Sometimes it calls attention to things that you really don’t want to listen to. Or, situations that perhaps you’re afraid to change.

🚩Intuition frequently calls attention to ‘red flags,’ which literally symbolize warnings of danger.

While it can be very hard to let go, hanging onto a friendship that isn’t healthy for you can be detrimental to your emotional and mental well-being.

The vlog, “Red Flags In Female Friendships: Listening to Your ‘Spidy Senses’” talks about intuition and unhealthy behaviors that frequently cause female friendships to flatline. It highlights red flags, or signs of manipulation, that are very destructive.

Are you listening to what your ‘spidy’ senses are telling you?

It's Not Your Job to Like Me, It's Mine (vlog/ talk)

The first ‘exotic’ trip I went on I slept on a wooden floor in a sleeping bag, in a hand-made hut, in a remote jungle, in Thailand.
It was freezing.

🐘On Christmas Day we rode elephants as we trekked along the Mae Taeng River.
Un-showered for three days, we were muddy, and absolutely enjoying every second.
I was in college.
It was exhilarating.

Cold or not, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

⁉️Have you ever experienced something that changed the view you had of yourself?

I have.
Multiple experiences, actually, that evolved into one big experience and turned into an enormous mindset shift.

In a nut-shell, a positive role model and the love of independent travel forced the me to reckon with myself and ultimately view who I was competing against.

Passion-fueled, the force to do better, for myself – by myself, drove me.
It forced me to look in the mirror and view my competition.
And what I found was... that competition was me.

It was one of the best life lessons I could have ever experienced.
Alone, I thrived. Alone, I overcame.

The vlog, “It’s Not Your Job To Like Me, It’s Mine” talks about how I came to the conclusion that I didn’t need the approval of other people, to be who I was meant to be.
