Origin Story

I work in the insurance industry as an Underwriter. I dream of being in management and playing a bigger game to lead and influence people. I want to make a difference in the organization. I go from being average to a top performer in one year. I then start making inquiries about leadership opportunities. I scheduled a meeting with a senior executive, and I explained to him that I was interested in a management role. After I gave him my pitch, he thanked me and said that he was delighted that I expressed interest in management because he would have never considered me for a management position. After a couple of seconds of shock, I ask why. He said that's easy, "you never said anything."

Those four words ring in my head going Ding, Ding, Ding! I realize that I have to speak up for myself! I was head down, working hard, thinking that any day now, someone is going to come and tap me on the shoulder and ask me to step into a management position. But...nobody ever came. I realized that I had the power to change my situation. Six months later, I finally stepped into a management role. For the first time in my life, I start campaigning for myself.

Today, I'm an executive VP for a $50 billion global insurance company. I onboarded new hires over the last six years. I realized that the males are always speaking up first with each cohort, and the females are quiet.

That is when I realized that I had to do something to encourage women to speak up! This is why I started my company to make women aware of how they are holding themselves back and may not even know it!
