Jenay uses her experience in diversity, leadership and communication to counsel clients across ever industry. A former corporate marketing executive and college professor, Jenay is able to provide authentic branding, DEI strategy, and powerful interpersonal communication training to businesses around the country. Her love of storytelling helps her write engaging brand copy and connect with audiences big and small. A wife and mother of four boys, Jenay often finds herself on a ball court or field when she isn't in her home office in McKinney, TX.
Jenay's passion is teaching women entrepreneurs who are finding their footing in business and building their personal brand. As a mother who has worked full-time in the office, worked from home, and even tried her hand as a stay-at-home mother for a spell, Jenay knows all about the demands on businesswomen trying to do it all with a smile on their faces. In fact, Jenay was awarded Texas Mother of the Year by American Mothers, Inc. in 2017, and entertained readers for years as a featured author and blogger for huge parenting sites like Scary Mommy and DFWChild. She takes pride in helping other women find the motivation and resources they need to put their dreams in action. Though Jenay loves speaking and motivating any audience, she really loves giving other business-moms the push they need!
Jenay is a classic storyteller--and long entertains audiences and classrooms with her stories from corporate banking, parenting, teaching and sports. Her most engaging topic to date is surrounding authentic conflict resolution, and her stories about how she avoids, wins--and sometimes loses--conflict situations tend to get the most resounding feedback. As is life, her conflict stories are often updated as she encounters new situations, though there is a particular run in at a Nike shoe store that is legendary in some circles... ;)
"Have you ever heard of A Series of Unfortunate Events? Well, that is sort of like the outline of my journey to here, only I count every situation as a blessing in disguise. It was through a series of births, changing states, promotions and lay-offs, pounding the pavement, accidental opportunities and true blessings that prepared me in every way to run my own business. Every day I am presented an opportunity to use a skill I never thought I'd need, or I am made to recall an experience I didn't realize would be so useful, and I turn these lived experiences into resources for my clients and audiences. Every piece of the puzzle fits together, and not until it was done did I see the picture because my puzzle didn't come with a box! I love the big picture, and I find creative ways to make the details fall into place--a strategy that has served me well."
