I’m passionate about helping people catch up to who they are now, lean into their strengths, and align their businesses and lives with that truth. Nothing excites me more than watching someone realize they can go further than they ever thought possible—and putting that insight into action!
One of my favorite speaking moments was at the Uniglobe Travel Center Conference at the Mall of America. The hotel was stunning, the setup was professional, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
During my keynote, I shared a photo of myself from college — snapped by my roommate when I wasn’t looking. In it, I’m sitting quietly on the floor in our hallway: the picture of a shy, introverted young woman.
Together with the audience, I reflected on the mystery of how that girl became someone who could build a business and stand on a stage sharing her story. As I spoke, tears welled up in my eyes — and I noticed many in the audience wiping their own. For a few minutes, we sat together in awe of how far we’d come, and of what it really means to have a dream, create a business, and live an amazing life… all because we dared to go for it.
It’s a moment I’ll never forget — and a reminder of just how much we all have in common.
Before I worked for myself, I was in the wine business, serving as Northern California Sales Manager for a Napa Valley winery. One day, I was asked to present to 200 top salespeople in San Francisco. They were smart, successful, and expecting something good.
I was terrified. I showed up in a suit when no one else was wearing one, clutched the podium to keep from shaking, and sped through a 20-minute talk in about half the time.
The good news? I got a standing ovation. The real reason? I finished so quickly they got to go home early!
But here’s what mattered: I didn’t pass out, and I got curious. What would it feel like to stand on a stage like that and not be terrified? That curiosity is what started me down the path to becoming the speaker I am today.
