Passion
Helping military veterans from all branches transition from their military lives to the civilian work world. I have Helped over 6000 veterans obtain employment over the past five years. Working with veterans is a privilege. You will find them strong smart, highly competent and capable of succeeding in any job of their choosing. The key was getting them across the finish line so that they could see how accomplished they are. Their greatest fears were that they believed they did not have the skills from their military jobs that would translate to civilian careers that would support their lifestyle. Bottomline, their questions were, “Am I good enough”, “smart enough” and will I be competitive amongst civilians. Out of the gate my answer was yes, yes and yes. In just three days of training, I was able to take them from frightened service member to shining stars ready to tackle the challenges of some of the largest Fortune 500 companies to careers at the Pentagon or the White House.
My Origin
I remembered my parents saying, “just get a secretarial position and we'll be happy”. being the first to graduate college in my household I never believed that I would ever reach the C suites. I never knew that those types of roles existed and certainly I would never have the qualifications for such a high-level job. I remembered my first mentor told me, Lauren share your ideas even if you're fearful, allow your powerful voice to be heard and eventually someone will listen and allow you to implement your programs never give up no matter how hard the day or how hard the job. I followed that voice throughout my 20 plus years working through corporate America and never let go of what that meant. indeed, I traveled up the ladder starting out as a middle school teacher and working four jobs for many years until one day I found myself earning a seat at the C-Suite table. I remember looking around taking a deep breath and telling myself “Just say it, tell them your idea”. My journey wasn’t easy, and several times II fell back many steps however I always managed to regain my footing and reach that next level. Today I am running my own company. Now I must pass it forward. My goal is to help high school and college age students find their voices forge their path much further than they ever believed they were capable of
