Dr. Andreea D. Vanacker is an entrepreneur, an international speaker, the author of four books, and she has been featured in over 100 Forbes and Fast Company articles on topics that inspire leaders to create human-centric organizations and individuals to thrive. She is a brain tumor survivor and brain science lover, and her work focuses on finding synergies between neuroscience, positive psychology, leadership, joy, and purpose. Expanding on her first TEDx talk and the Trilogy of Joy model that she developed, she founded One Million Years Of Joy, a global project on joy and a podcast.
Andreea studied in Canada and France and holds a Ph.D. in Economics, and degrees in International Business and Finance, and she speaks four languages. She has managed multi-million-dollar businesses with global teams and has done business in over 50 countries.
Andreea’s purpose is to elevate human potential, while having a positive impact on humanity and the planet. Through her work, board roles and philanthropic activities, her impact encompasses areas linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals focused mainly on wellbeing, education, and sustainability. She leverages her decades of research to find synergies between neuroscience, positive psychology, leadership, and human resilience to equip organizations with the agility and foresight to navigate with purpose.
After experiencing a 9-hour brain operation in late 2020, Andreea developed a new model to deal with life adversities called The Trilogy of Joy. Instead of going through the Cycle of Grief, as many would with a brain tumor diagnosis, she chose a new way of looking at life to deal with the situation prior and after the operation. During her talk, you will discover what are the pillars of the Trilogy of Joy model that she has developed, and how to effectively implement them in your life journey. Once we understand the fascinating world of how our brains work, an area that Andreea has researched for many years prior to her diagnosis, we can find ways to leverage that knowledge to our advantage. Through an elevated sense of empowerment, curiosity, and gratitude you will be able to become more resilient and more joyful while being able to find the silver lining in your darkest hours. Each day is a gift and an opportunity to evolve our sense of awe and wonder about the mysteries of life and its immense beauty.
Originally from Europe, Andreea has lived in North America most of her life. While working in the corporate world, and managing global teams, she has always been fascinated by human motivation, positive psychology and neuroscience. Everything she does today - from helping companies create human centric cultures, to the books she has written, or conferences she gives - is grounded on these core areas of passion, and her profound desire to elevate human wellbeing, performance and joy.
