Biography

I'm a leadership development expert, executive coach, facilitator, and storyteller with more than 17 years of experience developing professionals from emerging leaders to C-Suite executives across public-sector agencies, nonprofits, and organizations. Known for my energetic, authentic, and deeply human approach, I create experiences that invite people to reflect, connect, and see their own leadership differently. I weave pivotal moments from my own life and career into my keynotes, stories of resilience, finding my voice, navigating change, and learning to recognize my own value, to create meaningful connections between my story and the stories of those in the room.

With a Master’s in Organizational Change Management from The New School in New York City, I designed and launched leadership academies, facilitated executive and staff retreats, coached leaders, and developed leadership experiences for public-sector professionals throughout Southern California. My work includes partnerships with numerous city departments and organizations, including the Municipal Management Association of Southern California (MMASC) and the California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS). I understand the realities of public-sector leadership, from organizational change and competing priorities to community expectations, difficult conversations, and the responsibility of continuing to show up for others when the work feels heavy.

I have seen firsthand the journey leadership can take a person on, the confidence it can build, the doubt it can surface, and the moments that can ultimately shape who we become. As a certified mindfulness and resilience practitioner, I bring a whole-person lens to leadership development. At the heart of my work is a personal mission: to help people recognize their value, build confidence in their voice, and become stronger, more authentic leaders for themselves, their teams, and the communities they serve. My goal is for audiences to leave not only inspired, but more connected to who they are, what they bring, and what they want to lead from.

Passion

The topic that puts a smile on my face is hearing when someone advocates for themselves. Also, my daughter and anything Caribbean related!

Best Story

I always share a story of when my life changed. When I got into a terrible accident & it shifted the direction and path I took. I also share about my best friend who passed away and how she was the inspiration behind “Innergem”.

Origin Story

How I got here or my a-ha moment: My culture. Being brought up in a home where, as a woman, advocating always felt like I was starting a fight. My a-ha moment was when I was fired for not using my voice. I had to re-learn what I was taught and that dug deep into who I was as a person, in my body, the color of my skin. How when I look in the mirror, I have had to teach myself to operate in a way that I didn’t see growing up and by doing this, I’ve learned the power of my voice and now I am unstoppable with it.
