Biography

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, one of three daughters, and the child of a father who lived with polio, yet never allowed it to limit his dreams. His determination led him to become a successful businessman who instilled in his children a strong work ethic, deep-rooted faith, and a steadfast “never give up” attitude.

Following his example, I excelled in sports and later built a successful career in Corporate America—first as an International Customer Salesperson using my fluency in Spanish, and then as an Executive Pharmaceutical Representative. After becoming a mother of three, my marriage began to fracture, and I felt a clear internal guidance to step into the unknown and leave. That decision led me into years of profound healing, surrender, and spiritual study. I devoted myself to understanding the subconscious mind, developing intuition, and rebuilding my life from a place of authenticity and truth.

As I slowly re-emerged into the world, I saw a universal need—people were hungry for a spiritual foundation, inner clarity, and a sense of personal power. I began teaching others the very practices that transformed me: intuitive awareness, self-care, self-worth, emotional courage, and self-compassion.

Today, my work centers around helping individuals reclaim their power, rebuild their intuition, and restore grace to their lives. I guide them to align with their highest choices, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and step boldly into their full expression as human beings. A core focus of my mission is the interdependence and empowerment of women—supporting them in rising into their greatness, strengthening their relationship with money and worthiness, and leading from a place of confidence, depth, and truth.

Passion

The topic I feel most passionate about is helping women move from fear to confidence by reconnecting with who they truly are. Too many of us spend years putting ourselves last—over-giving, over-functioning, and ignoring our own desires because we’re afraid of disappointing others or being seen as “too much.” When we do that, we lose access to our intuition, our emotional intelligence, and the clarity that comes from honoring our own needs. My passion is guiding women to trust themselves, set healthy boundaries, and finally put their dreams at the top of the list. When we stop living from fear and start standing in our worth, everything changes—our confidence rises, our voice strengthens, and we begin to pursue what we truly want with courage and clarity. The more aligned we are with our real desires, the more our lives shift toward fulfillment, purpose, and authentic power.

Best Story

I am a Certified Firewalk Instructor—one of approximately 3,000 in the world. One of the most powerful experiences of my life came through the four-day training required to earn that title.

On the first night, after walking across 1,400-degree coals twice, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. I remember thinking, If I can do this, I can do anything. While I was still riding that high, another participant walked over and casually said, “Just wait until Saturday—when you have to walk the fire 108 times.”

That single sentence dropped me right back into fear. Anxiety flooded my body. My confidence wavered. Still, I was determined. I had committed to becoming an instructor, so I participated fully in every activity, allowing the fire to become my teacher.

By Saturday, I was nauseated most of the day. I was also chosen—by the only other woman in the group—to be her co-captain, because we wanted to show the men that we were ready and capable of completing this challenge. During the walk, a leader is elected to complete 15 laps before passing leadership to another. I was selected twice and led our team through the final stretch to 107 laps.

During one of the breaks, the same man who had originally mentioned the 108 walks approached me and said he could tell I was faltering and wanted to pray with me. Although I didn’t feel that way, I agreed. I knew I was focused and fully in my zone. The energy was electric—other instructors and family members were cheering us on the entire time.

After the prayer, I noticed something interesting: he was walking along the edge of the fire lane—the coolest part—while I was walking straight down the middle, where the heat was strongest. In that moment, I realized something profound. He didn’t give me strength—I had given it to him.

After 107 laps, the master team expanded the fire lane to 20 feet. As I took that final walk, I felt as though I levitated. I didn’t feel the coals touch my feet at all. I collapsed into my master’s arms and cried—overcome with relief, elation, and an almost indescribable sense of bliss.

I didn’t come down from that experience for days. My feet were completely normal, and later that week I even played full-court basketball with my son and his CYC team. It was, without question, an experience of a lifetime—and a reminder that leadership, courage, and resilience are often revealed in moments when we think we have nothing left.

Origin Story

I have always known I was meant to be on a stage. From theater and ballroom dance to voice lessons, performance has been the language through which I make sense of the world. The stage is where I am most present, most connected, and most alive. But for a long time, I didn’t yet understand why I was drawn there.

For 13 years, I worked in corporate America, learning the systems, expectations, and pressures of high performance. When I became a mother, I chose to be home with my children—but I didn’t stop pushing my own edge. I’m a high achiever by nature, and even in flexible, part-time work, I was always searching for something deeper than productivity or success. That search led me inward.

With time and intention, I immersed myself in personal development, leadership, emotional resilience, intuition, and healing. I didn’t just study these ideas—I embodied them. I faced fear, challenged old patterns, and learned what happens when people silence themselves, disconnect from their intuition, and live disconnected from their own power.

My speaking career began in rooms without spotlights. Through Al-Anon, I shared my experience, strength, and hope with people who were struggling—people who didn’t need inspiration, but truth. That’s where I learned that transformation doesn’t come from information alone; it comes from presence, resonance, and lived experience.

My background in performance gave me something essential: the ability to read a room, hold energy, and communicate in a way people feel—not just hear. Over time, I realized that the stage wasn’t about being seen. It was about helping others see themselves.

Today, I speak because I know the power of pushing your own edge—and I know how to guide others to do the same. I don’t perform for applause. I perform for impact. I use storytelling, embodiment, and actionable frameworks so audiences leave with something they can remember, apply, and trust themselves to live.

The stage is where my gifts converge.
And transformation is the reason I stay there.

Example Talks

Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, Resilience

‘When we allow fear to dictate our lives, we become frozen, unable to take the steps necessary to move forward. But what if I told you that the power to reclaim your confidence is already within you? Together, we will explore how to walk through fear, rebuild your intuition, and restore the grace that allows you to shine.’

From Frozen in Fear to Fired Up with Confidence: How to break through fear, Reclaim your Power, and Lead with Courage

Most people don’t realize how much fear quietly shapes their choices—whether it’s staying in a job that drains them, holding back in a meeting, avoiding difficult conversations, or putting their dreams on hold because they’re afraid of being “too much,” “not enough,” or getting it wrong. Fear doesn’t just freeze us. It convinces us to shrink.

In this transformational keynote, Melissa Range shares her journey from living small to becoming a firewalk and glass walk instructor, guiding audiences through real, physical metaphors for courage. You will discover how fear shows up in the body, how it blocks your confidence, and how the simple act of taking one brave step—literal or metaphorical—can completely shift your life.

Through powerful storytelling, humor, and the unforgettable metaphor of the glass walk, Melissa demonstrates how to focus your mind, regulate your nervous system, and reclaim your inner fire. The glass walk becomes a living lesson: when you align your attention, intention, and inner truth, you can move through anything that once felt impossible.

Participants will leave this talk energized, grounded, and ready to lead themselves (and others) with courage in a world that needs their strength, clarity, and authenticity now more than ever.

As a result of this experience, the audience will…

1. Transform their relationship with fear

Understand how fear disguises itself as overthinking, people-pleasing, hesitation, or perfectionism—and learn how to move through it with clarity instead of being controlled by it.
