Biography

I speak to leaders, sales teams, and community builders who are tired of the 'autopilot' approach to networking. Drawing on a background that spans Wall Street, real estate, and nonprofit leadership, I bridge the gap between strategic business growth and genuine human connection. Whether I’m teaching the B.R.I.D.G.E. system to move from awkward to authentic, or sharing how the original apostles built the world’s most influential community, my goal is to equip every attendee with the skills to communicate with purpose, lead with empathy, and build a network that actually works.

Kim Curran is an engaging speaker who speaks regularly about business strategy, networking, and effective marketing strategies. As the Chief Connection Officer based in Aldie, VA, Kim is a dynamic expert in transforming networking into authentic, purpose-driven connections. She has a unique ability to teach professionals how to build meaningful relationships that drive success in their personal and professional lives.

Passion

I am on a mission to kill the world’s most boring networking question: 'What do you do?' I believe we are more than our job titles, and when we lead with curiosity instead of a pitch, we unlock real connection. My passion is teaching people how to trade transactional small talk for transformational relationships by asking the human questions that actually matter. Networking isn't magic — it's a skill, and it starts the moment you stop asking what someone does and start discovering who they are.

What drives Kim is her belief that networking should not be a source of anxiety but rather an opportunity for authentic connection. She cares deeply about empowering individuals to see the value in their relationships and to utilize those connections to achieve their goals. Kim's mission is to make networking feel human and enjoyable, helping others to cultivate trust and community without the burnout that often accompanies traditional networking approaches.

Best Story

Signature Methodology: The B.R.I.D.G.E. System
I teach the B.R.I.D.G.E. System, a 6-step framework that moves professionals from the 'Awkward Zone' of transactional small talk to the 'Authentic Zone' of transformational relationship building. My most requested workshop feature is the 3 Human Questions—three specific prompts that have absolutely zero to do with business but everything to do with building trust. By replacing the dreaded 'What do you do?' with curiosity-led connection, I help audiences build networks that are resilient, resourceful, and remarkably human.

One of Kim's most memorable speaking experiences was at a national conference where she delivered a keynote to an audience of over 500 attendees. Her practical insights and engaging storytelling resonated deeply, leading to a standing ovation and numerous follow-up requests for her workshops. The event reinforced her commitment to helping professionals cultivate their networks authentically.

Origin Story

My path to becoming a networking strategist didn’t start in a boardroom; it started in the high-stakes, fast-paced worlds of Wall Street and real estate. In those environments, everything is measured by transactions and quotas. But I quickly noticed a pattern: the people who truly thrived weren't just the ones with the best data—they were the ones who built the best bridges. After years in corporate and nonprofit leadership, I realized that 'presence' is a professional superpower that most people are leaving on the table. I founded In Two Places to help leaders stop operating on networking 'autopilot' and start building the kind of authentic relationships that actually sustain a career and a community.

Kim's journey began when she recognized the struggles many professionals faced in networking effectively. Inspired by her passion for connecting people and fostering genuine relationships, she developed the B.R.I.D.G.E. Networking System, which has since become her framework for helping others navigate networking with confidence and purpose.
