Biography

Kim Cavalcante is an executive coach, leadership speaker, and author of It’s YOUR Turn! A Guide to Reclaim Your Identity, Voice, and Joy. After more than 17 years in corporate leadership with Siemens, Schneider Electric, and Medtronic, Kim stepped away from her career to raise her three children and later reinvented her own professional path. Today, she helps accomplished women and leaders reconnect with who they are, trust their voice, strengthen their confidence and influence, and intentionally choose what comes next. Kim is the founder of KC Leadership Group and an ICF Professional Certified Coach. Her work blends real-world leadership experience, candid conversation, and practical tools that help people move from reflection to action.

Passion

I am passionate about helping people, especially accomplished women, stop living on autopilot and reconnect with their own voice.

So many capable women spend years doing what needs to be done: building careers, raising families, taking care of others, achieving, performing, and meeting expectations. Somewhere along the way, it can become difficult to answer a surprisingly simple question: What do I want now?

I love creating conversations that give people permission to ask that question, trust their own voice again, and take meaningful action toward the life and leadership they want.

Best Story

One of the most important transitions in my own life came when I stepped away from a successful corporate career to raise three children under the age of three. On paper, I had done everything I was supposed to do—I had an engineering degree, an MBA, a growing leadership career, international experience, and roles with major global companies.

And then my identity changed almost overnight.

Years later, as I began thinking about returning to work, I realized I wasn’t simply asking, “What job should I do next?” I was asking a much bigger question: Who am I now, and what do I want?

That question ultimately led me to executive coaching, entrepreneurship, speaking, and eventually writing It’s YOUR Turn!. It is also why I connect so deeply with people navigating their own moments of transition. Sometimes the next chapter does not begin with having the answer. It begins with finally giving yourself permission to ask the question.

Origin Story

My path to this work was anything but linear.

I began my career as an electrical engineer and spent more than 17 years in corporate leadership with Siemens, Schneider Electric, and Medtronic. My career took me through sales, marketing, strategy, business development, leadership—and even an international assignment in Germany.

After becoming a mother to twins and then welcoming our daughter, I made the decision to step away from corporate life and focus on raising our three young children.

Nearly a decade later, as I considered what I wanted my own next chapter to look like, a friend introduced me to coaching. Something clicked immediately. I realized that so much of what I had loved throughout my career—developing people, asking questions, helping others see possibilities, and turning insight into action—had a name.

I pursued professional coaching certification, built my practice, and eventually founded KC Leadership Group. That journey also became part of the inspiration for It’s YOUR Turn! and the work I now do helping others find their voice, lead with greater intention, and decide what they want next.
