Biography

Kerry Boehner is the founder of KOB Solutions, a boutique biotech and life sciences recruiting firm she has led since 2001. A Notre Dame–trained chemical engineer with 25+ years of experience, she specializes in complex, hard-to-fill searches across the drug development lifecycle. Kerry speaks on careers, recruiting, job search strategy, and more, drawing on decades of relationship-based work in scientific talent. She's also a competitive runner currently training for the Boston Marathon.

Passion

What drives me is the pursuit of fit — the real kind, not the resume-keyword kind. I've spent 25+ years inside the science of biotech and pharma, and I've learned that the best placements happen when you slow down enough to actually understand a person: what they're wired for, not just what they're qualified for. That same philosophy shows up in how I live outside of work. I'm currently training for the Boston Marathon, and running has taught me the same lesson recruiting has: perseverance beats speed, and the work you do when no one's watching is what actually gets you there. I'm drawn to solitude, honesty, and deep focus — I do my best thinking when I can move deliberately and stay true to how I'm wired. I want to bring that same message to other people navigating their careers: trust the process, chase quality over volume, and don't be afraid to be discerning about what — and who — is actually the right fit.

Origin Story

I didn't start out planning to be a recruiter — I started out as a chemical engineer, trained at Notre Dame to think in systems, data, and process. But somewhere along the way, I realized the hardest problem in biotech and pharma wasn't the science — it was finding the right people to do the science. In 2001, I founded KOB Solutions on a simple bet: that a recruiter who actually understood the technical and scientific weeds could do this work better than one who was just chasing keywords and volume. Over 25 years later, that bet has held up. I've built my firm the same way I approach everything else — slowly, deliberately, and on relationships rather than transactions — because in an industry this specialized, trust and fit aren't nice-to-haves, they're the whole game.
