Biography

Diana Lowe is an executive coach, leadership speaker, Best-selling Author and founder of Blue Light Leadership, where she helps organizations develop high-performing leaders who can deliver results without leaving damaged teams in their wake. With more than 15 years of experience in leadership development, coaching, and corporate training, Diana specializes in the human side of performance—emotional intelligence, behavior change, psychological capital, communication, and leadership under pressure.

She holds a master’s degree in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology and brings evidence-based psychology together with practical strategies leaders can use immediately. Diana has worked with leaders from organizations including Google, Salesforce, Intuit, NASA, Meta, BlackRock, Chevron, and Warner Bros. Discovery.

She is also the author of the award-winning Hard to Handle: The High Performer’s Guide to Navigating What’s Next, an Amazon bestseller that explores what happens when talented, driven people discover that results alone aren’t enough to succeed as leaders.

Known for making complex human behavior practical, relatable, and often funny, Diana speaks on difficult high performers, leadership behavior, psychological capacity, navigating change, hard conversations, and the human capabilities that matter even more in an AI-driven workplace. Her work gives leaders something more useful than inspiration: a clearer understanding of themselves, their impact on others, and what they can do differently when they return to work.

Passion

I’m endlessly curious and genuinely love learning—whether that means reading a great book, diving deeper into positive psychology, or discovering something that changes the way I see people and the world.

My Buddhist practice is an important part of my life, and I’m passionate about continually working on my own happiness while contributing, in whatever way I can, to the bigger goal of world peace.

I also love traveling, but what I love most about it is the people. Some of my favorite experiences have come from meeting people along the way, hearing their stories, and getting a glimpse into how they live and see the world.

And then there’s the fun stuff: movies, live concerts, and an unapologetic love of cheesy ’90s one-hit wonders. If there’s a song I haven’t heard in 25 years and somehow still know every word, I’m very happy.

Origin Story

Early in my career, I worked in finance and lived around the world. On the outside, my life looked exciting and successful. But at work, I experienced a very different reality.

I worked for leaders who undermined me, excluded me, humiliated me, and made me question my own value. At one point, the experience became so difficult that I dreaded going to work every day, eventually reaching an emotional breaking point and being diagnosed with clinical depression.

As I recovered, I made myself a promise: I would do everything I could to stop bad bosses from ruining people’s lives. That promise eventually became Blue Light Leadership.

But over the years, my perspective changed. Through studying positive psychology, emotional intelligence, behavior change, and coaching—and through working with leaders myself—I realized that most “bad bosses” aren’t necessarily bad people. Often, they’re talented, driven people who have never learned to understand the impact their behavior has on everyone around them.

That realization became the heart of my work.

Today, I help organizations develop high-performing and technically brilliant people into stronger people leaders. Instead of simply labeling someone “difficult” or giving up on them, I believe we can create awareness, build empathy and accountability, and give people an opportunity to change.

And in a strange way, I’m now grateful for where my story began. Those difficult experiences ultimately led me to my purpose: helping build workplaces where people can perform at a high level without sacrificing the humans around them—or themselves.
