Chris Davis was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until she was nearly 50 years old. She met all the expected benchmarks of graduating from early-morning seminary in high school, serving an honorable mission in California, marrying in the temple in Utah, and raising a family in Connecticut.

In 2020, she left her devout life, came out as queer, and moved back to her home state of Maine. Her catalyst for leaving the church was her teen coming out as trans and watching them learn how to hate themselves at church, the way she had learned to hate herself as a lifelong closeted lesbian. When faced with the impossible choice between faith and family, Chris chose love.

As a dedicated at-home parent and trad wife of 25 years, she didn't know she had options. She wants women to know they have options. She teaches them the power of their consent so they can build a life they feel like they're choosing.

In her book, Worthy: The Memoir of an Ex-Mormon Lesbian, Chris tells heartwarming stories of growing up in Maine in the 1970s/80s, alternating with accounts of struggling as a closeted lesbian and a woman in the Mormon church.

Chris shares her brave transformation journey from Mousy Mormon to Feisty Feminist with audiences using her signature humor and disarming vulnerability. Her style has been described as "uniquely Maine" and she brags that she can win people over against their will.
