I'm the founder of Best You Talent Advisors. I bring more than two decades of Fortune 50 experience, including executive talent acquisition and HR roles at Comcast, Lockheed Martin, Quest Diagnostics, and Honeywell. I hold an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and am an ICF Associate Certified Coach.
In the past five years, I've coached more than 300 leaders and convened 80+ leadership forums serving 6,000+ professionals. That gives me a rare dual view: how leaders are chosen, and what it takes to lead well once they're in the room.
I light up when a capable leader finally sees what others already see in them. After years of recruiting thousands of professionals, I know talent is rarely the problem. Clarity, confidence, and the right relationships are. I'm passionate about helping human-centered leaders align their Head, Heart, and Soul so they lead and live on their own terms. I also love giving back through Colorado Career Connectors and supporting women stepping into bigger leadership roles.
I was in the final interview for a Head of Talent role at a major tech company. The previous conversations with other C-Suite members had gone well. I felt like this one was going well, too.
Then the CEO asked his last question: “What is your biggest professional failure?”
I went silent. The kind of silence where you can hear yourself thinking, Say something. Anything.
Finally, I said, “I tried to control a 51-year-old manager who was partying with her employees, and it just did not work.”
Then I asked him, “What about you?”
I walked out, got into my car, and sat there stunned. I had helped countless people prepare for interviews. I knew what that question was asking. Yet when it was my turn, I could not find my own story.
That is the moment I would bring to the stage. I would tell the audience what I understand now: I had answered with the facts, but I had left out the part that mattered most. What had I done? What had I learned? Who had I become because of it?
It became a lesson in leading with head, heart, and soul. Head asks us to see the situation clearly and take responsibility for our decisions. Heart asks us to see the people involved as people, not problems to control. Soul asks us to tell the truth, especially when the truth makes us uncomfortable.
I wish I could go back and answer the CEO again. I cannot. But I can help other leaders recognize the moments when a polished answer is less powerful than an honest one.
I spent my corporate career leading HR and talent acquisition at Fortune 50 companies including Comcast, Lockheed Martin, Quest Diagnostics, and Honeywell. I recruited thousands of professionals and saw firsthand how leaders are evaluated, promoted, and overlooked. So I built Best You Talent Advisors, a boutique firm that brings executive coaching, talent advisement, and executive recruitment together under one roof. Most coaches coach. Most recruiters recruit. I do both, because leaders need both. In 2021 I also founded Colorado Career Connectors, a nonprofit that has served more than 1,700 job seekers.
