Annette Richmond, MA, is a dynamic content marketing and video strategy trainer who helps consultants, coaches, and thought leaders grow their visibility and confidence online—especially on LinkedIn.
With a background in media studies and a former career in magazine writing, Annette has always been captivated by the power of storytelling. She brings that passion to life through content marketing that connects—and video strategies that convert.
Annette is the host of Content Marketing School Live, a LinkedIn Live broadcast and podcast that launched in 2024, following her first podcast in 2020 and her LinkedIn Live debut in 2021. She makes content creation feel doable, authentic, and even fun—especially for those who are camera-shy or just getting started.
A sought-after speaker known for her relatable, high-energy style, Annette has delivered sessions at national and regional conferences including the AONL 2026 Inspiring Leaders, Chicago, and ATD Regional Conference, Sturbridge, MA. She’s a proud member of Innovation Women, and her local ATD chapter.
Annette holds an MA in Psychology from Fairfield University and a BA in English and Media Studies from Sacred Heart University—an academic blend that informs both her practical strategies and her people-first approach.
I’m passionate about helping people stop overthinking and start showing up—especially on video. Most of my clients already have something valuable to say. They just need help getting out of their own way so they can share it with clarity and confidence. That’s where I come in. Through content strategy, video coaching, and a whole lot of encouragement, I help coaches, consultants, and experts finally get visible and connect with the people who need their message.
One of my favorite moments as a speaker happened in the most unexpected place: the airport.
I had just wrapped up a conference presentation on video marketing, and while waiting at my gate, an attendee from my session came over to say thank you. He told me that instead of listening to a podcast on his flight home, he downloaded one of the apps I mentioned—and recorded his very first video right there in the terminal.
He said, “You made it feel doable.”
That moment has stuck with me ever since. Because it’s not just about marketing—it’s about helping people move through their fear and actually start. And when someone takes action because of something I shared? That’s the best part of this work.
The idea for Black Dog Marketing Strategies was sparked over lunch at a post-pandemic conference.
At the time, I was shifting from a focus on personal branding to content marketing, and as the organization’s membership chair, I had already been encouraging members to use video through a community contest I ran. People began to associate me with video—which I loved.
During one lunch, a colleague asked how to create a simple “meet me” video. I showed her how to download a free app on her phone and shared a few quick techniques to get started. That one conversation turned into more—how to launch a LinkedIn Live show, how to create social media graphics, how to feel confident on camera.
And that’s when it clicked: I wasn’t just helping people create content—I was helping them be seen.
Today, through Black Dog Marketing Strategies, I work with B2B consultants, coaches, and entrepreneurs to develop content marketing strategies that build trust, increase visibility, and support sustainable growth—especially through the power of video.
Most companies are still doing video the old way — expensive, outsourced, and published once a quarter. Meanwhile, their competitors are showing up consistently with authentic, in-house video that actually builds trust.
In this session, Annette Richmond shows organizations how to bring video in-house without a production crew or a big budget. Attendees leave with a practical framework for turning their team's existing expertise into consistent video content that grows visibility, builds authority, and drives business.
Attendees will leave with:
→ A simple framework for building a video content strategy around their team's existing expertise
→ Practical tools and techniques for creating consistent, on-brand video without an agency or big budget
→ A clear action plan for turning employee knowledge into content that builds trust and attracts clients
Most people think they're stuck on video because of their gear, their schedule, or hating how they look on camera. The real problem is how they think about content.
In this session, Annette Richmond introduces the Creator Mindset — a five-part framework that helps professionals and teams spot story-worthy moments everywhere, build a flexible idea system, and create consistent video without burning out. Attendees leave with a new lens on content creation, not just new tools.
Attendees will leave with:
→ A five-part framework for thinking like a creator — even if they've never considered themselves one
→ A practical system for capturing and organizing ideas so they never start from zero
→ The mindset shift that moves content creation from stressful obligation to sustainable habit
Short-form video is one of the highest-ROI marketing formats available, but most professionals get stuck in a cycle of endless retakes, time-consuming edits, and inconsistent posting. In this practical, no-fluff session, Annette Richmond shows audiences exactly how to break that cycle.
Using her Record Smarter, Edit Smarter, and Workflow framework, Annette walks attendees through on-camera strategies, B-roll techniques, the 3x1 Video Trick, and batch recording systems that make consistency achievable. She also covers podcast guesting and hosting as a powerful visibility play for anyone who wants to build authority and repurpose content.
Attendees will leave with:
→ A repeatable video recording and editing workflow they can implement immediately, with no expensive equipment required
→ Practical techniques for getting more comfortable on camera, including the BOCA method for building confidence without publishing pressure
→ A visibility strategy that extends beyond video, including how to land the right podcast guest spots and turn each appearance into multiple pieces of content
