Amy Lahue is the founder of Enlightened Breath, a certified breathwork facilitator, registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), and speaker helping individuals and organizations unlock one of the most overlooked tools for health, resilience, and high performance: the breath.
Drawing from both modern science and centuries-old breathing traditions, Amy delivers engaging keynotes and interactive workshops that translate the latest research on breathing, nervous system regulation, and stress physiology into practical strategies audiences can use immediately. Participants learn how intentional breathing can help lower blood pressure, improve mental clarity, strengthen emotional regulation, reduce stress, and enhance resilience in both their personal and professional lives.
Known for her engaging, experiential presentation style, Amy doesn't just talk about breath—she guides audiences through it. By blending compelling science with real-time breathing practices, she creates memorable experiences that leave attendees feeling calmer, more focused, and empowered with tools they can continue using long after the event.
Amy speaks to corporations, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, conferences, and community groups on topics including stress management, resilience, burnout prevention, nervous system regulation, and breathwork for health and performance.
I believe we spend our entire lives breathing, yet almost no one is ever taught how to use the breath as a tool for health, resilience, and performance.
I'm passionate about translating the science of breathing into practical skills that anyone can use. Whether I'm working with corporate leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, or students, my goal is to help people discover that they have more influence over their stress, focus, and well-being than they ever imagined. There's nothing more rewarding than watching someone realize that meaningful change can begin with something they already possess: their next breath.
One of my favorite stories to share is about a woman who came to me after years of living with debilitating anxiety. Following surgery that left her diaphragm scarred, her anxiety gradually intensified over the next decade until panic attacks became a regular part of her life. In the six months before we began working together, she had been hospitalized three times because she believed she was having life-threatening medical emergencies.
Together, we focused on rebuilding healthy breathing mechanics and teaching her practical tools to regulate her nervous system. As her breathing patterns changed, so did her relationship with anxiety. She regained confidence, learned to recognize the difference between panic and danger, and began responding to stress in an entirely new way. Her panic attacks stopped, and she was able to reclaim activities she had once avoided out of fear.
I share this story not because it is unusual, but because it reminds audiences that our breath is far more than a way to take in oxygen. It is a powerful gateway to influencing the nervous system, and when people learn how to use it intentionally, remarkable change is possible.
My journey into breathwork didn't begin in a yoga studio—it began by watching people I love struggle.
As my two children navigated college, I was struck by the overwhelming levels of stress, anxiety, and burnout affecting not only them, but so many of their peers. Around the same time, close friends and family members experienced serious mental health challenges, leaving me with one question: Why aren't we teaching people the skills to regulate their own nervous systems before they reach a crisis?
Searching for answers led me into yoga, breathwork, and the science of human physiology. I expected to find relaxation techniques. Instead, I discovered a remarkable intersection between modern research and centuries-old breathing traditions that demonstrated how intentional breathing can influence our stress response, cardiovascular health, emotional regulation, focus, and resilience.
What began as curiosity became a calling. Today, my mission is to help people understand that one of the most powerful tools for improving health and well-being has been with them all along—their breath.
OVERVIEW: Our emotional state influences how we think, communicate, make decisions, and respond to the world around us. Fear, anxiety, sadness, and other difficult emotions can leave us feeling depleted—but lasting change does not begin by ignoring those feelings. It begins by recognizing them. In this engaging presentation, Amy introduces “frequency” as a framework for understanding emotional energy and teaches participants how to identify low-energy states, examine the ingrained beliefs beneath them, and intentionally shift toward more supportive perspectives. Participants will leave with practical tools for creating greater emotional capacity, clearer decision-making, and more meaningful personal and professional outcomes.
